Argyle will be represented by ball 5 in the Southern Section, when the Vertu Trophy Round of 16 draw takes place on Saturday, 6 December.
The draw will be broadcast live on Sky Sports' EFL Show from 11.45am. Sky Sports’ David Prutton will host the draw, alongside Wes Morgan and Curtis Davies.
For the Round of 16 draw, clubs will remain regionalised with two draws taking place, one Northern and one Southern.
In this year's competition, Argyle progressed through Southern Group B, before beating Leyton Orient 1-0 in the first knockout round, thanks to Lorent Tolaj's stoppage-time winner.
