Morgan Whittaker has won the CT1 Argyle Player of the Month award for January.

It is the sixth month in which the poll has been conducted; Morgan has won the award in four of those months: September, October, December and now January. Kaine Kesler-Hayden won the August award, with Lewis Gibson winning in November.

In the poll for January, Whittaker garnered 42.9% of the vote, ahead of Ryan Hardie who attracted 38.3%. Brendan Galloway was third in the poll, Mickel Miller fourth.

Whittaker played in all five of Argyle's January fixtures, scoring in the first four of them. He scored Argyle's second goal in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Watford, followed a by a coup de grace in the Greens' 3-1 win against Sutton United in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup. A week later, Whittaker scored Argyle's goal in a 1-1 draw at Huddersfield Town and then, back at Home Park, Morgan again scored the third in a 3-1 victory, this time against Cardiff City.

Whittaker has already got February off to a perfect start, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win against his former side, Swansea City.

"I didn't expect to win again," said Morgan. "I just try to go out and do my best in each game.

"I try to keep going, and keep working hard. It is nice to win awards. I've won four, and now I want to win five or six, because it will mean my form has kept going.

"I have a fantastic group of team-mates, though, and the most important thing is that we keep on picking up results, as we have done so far this year.

"I want to thank all the fans for voting, and for the backing they continue to give me and the team. It is much appreciated."
