Argyle have made a seventh summer acquisition signing forward Will Evans.
Evans, 29, joins from fellow Sky Bet League One side, Mansfield Town, on a two-year contract, with a club option of a further year.
The frontman progressed through the youth system at Shrewsbury Town before heading to Cardiff Metropolitan University to study teaching and play in the Cymru Premier League. He played 122 times, scoring 22 goals and earnt a move to Bala Town.
From there, Evans joined Newport County, making 107 appearances and scoring 29 goals for the Exiles. In August 2024, he signed for Mansfield and scored 25 goals in 98 games, including 10 goals in all competitions last season. The most notable came against Premier League champions, Arsenal.
The Welshman now heads to the South West and Head Coach Tom Cleverley is delighted to bring him to Argyle, commenting: “Will is someone I have tracked for a number of years, following his rise through the leagues.
“He is quick, aggressive and a tireless runner offering both an outlet in behind but also an ability to play different positions.
“I see him moving forward as a number 9 and his goalscoring record throughout his career has been very good.
“We feel we can develop him even further as we have done with our strikers previously and he will also complement the other forwards we have at the club.

Will takes the number 9 shirt, with the transfer subject to EFL approval. He will be sponsored by Zoom Associates.
