Will Jenkins Davies Set For Torquay Loan
Will Jenkins Davies is joining Torquay United on loan.
The midfielder, about to embark on his first season as a professional outside of the Under-18 squad, will head to the Gulls to further his football education, and will be part of the match-day squad for Torquay when they play Exeter City in a friendly on Saturday afternoon.
Will has played 11 times for Argyle’s first team. Seven of those have appearances have been in the EFL Trophy, including a game at Swindon Town last season in which Will scored his first senior goal. He has also appeared from the bench in Sky Bet League One three times, and started in the Emirates FA Cup at Grimsby Town last season.
Coincidentally, Will was a second-half substitute at Torquay as Argyle drew 1-1 at Plainmoor on Tuesday night. He will now be a part of United’s season as they look to bounce back to the Vanarama National League at the first attempt.
“I’m delighted that Will has an opportunity to further his development at a club like Torquay,” said Argyle first-team coach and head of player development Kevin Nancekivell. “Hopefully he can get some good game time, which will only enhance his chances of coming back getting involved with the first team at Home Park.
“If he can follow the example set by Adam Randell, who had a superb season with Torquay and progressed particularly well, then it will be a great experience all round.”
