WITH goals at a premium, Argyle manager John Sheridan was pleased to extend the loan spell of striker Gozie Ugwu.

The Reading youngster will now remain at Home Park until March 23, making his available for the Pilgrims’ next seven npower League 2 games.

“It’s an option I had,” explained John. “He’s getting fitter after training for two weeks and he’ll want to try and prove his worth.

“He’s pleased that I wanted to keep him and I hope I’ve made the right decision. It doesn’t automatically mean he’s going to be playing.

“We just need that strength in depth and, with goals being the problem at the moment, I thought it was important to have bodies up [front].

“Hopefully we can see a lot more of him, and hopefully he can get us a few goals.”
