Argyle On the Wey

ARGYLE will play Weymouth on Saturday, July 23 in a pre-season friendly.

The date had been saved for some time, with a fixture between Weymouth and an Argyle development side tentatively scheduled. This has now been altered, and boss Derek Adams will take a full-strength Argyle line-up to the Bob Lucas Stadium. The game will kick-off at 3pm.

The following day, Argyle will fly to the Netherlands to begin their Dutch training camp - and you could join them. Due to a number of circumstances, spaces have become available for supporters on the tour.

The trip will include elite access to a training session; dinner with Derek and the players; an exclusive Q&A session and prize draw; a tour shirt; tickets and travel to our friendly against Maastricht - and much more. Argyle's last visit to Weymouth was in the build-up to the 2014-15 season. In thundery conditions, the teams finished level at 2-2. A Nathan Thomas penalty and a Kelvin Mellor strike accounted for Argyle's goals, while Chris Shephard and Stewart Yetton were on target for Weymouth.

Yetton is one of a trio of former Pilgrims at Weymouth. Jordan Copp, who also works for the Argyle Community Trust, is on the books at the Dorset club, while former loan midfielder Mark Molelsey has recently signed up as a player-coach.

Managed by Jason Matthews, Weymouth have finished seventh for the last two seasons in the Southern League Premier Division, three steps below Argyle.

As for all pre-season games, we will announce ticket details as soon as we have them.
