FRD - Longhauls

THE Green Army will make their longest trip of the 2018-19 Sky Bet League One campaign in the first week of March.

The Pilgrims will take on Sunderland – with a 806-mile round-trip to the north east – on Saturday, March 2, 12 seasons since their last visit to the Stadium of Light, where they bagged a 3-2 win with goals from David Norris, Barry Hayles and Nick Chadwick.

That trip comes two weeks after another long-haul, against Bradford City, our second-furthest trip (660 miles) on Saturday February, 16.

We visit Fleetwood Town (650 miles) on Saturday March, 16, hoping to improve on the Moses Makasi-inspired 1-1 draw during our last visit to Highbury Stadium, and travel then to Blackpool on Saturday March, 30 where we drew 2-2 in our final game of 2017 thanks, in part, to Graham Carey’s goal of the season.

We are also on our travels for Easter, journeying to Priestfield Stadium to face Gillingham on Friday, April 19.

The last away fixture of the season will see a trip to Accrington Stanley on Saturday, April 27.
