An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to take a leading role in supporting our ambitious football department at Home Park.
In the role of Head of Football Data at Argyle, the successful candidate will take a vital strategic role in evolving our use of statistics and data to provide a competitive edge across all areas of football performance.
The role, which will report in to the club’s Director of Football, will lead on all areas of data analysis, developing an overall framework for the club’s emerging data analysis work, liaising with data providers, and setting and measuring key performance indicators. The Head of Football Data will also support the crucial decision making of the Director of Football, First-Team Manager, and other senior football staff in player recruitment, performance analysis, and opposition assessment.
Under the leadership of Chairman Simon Hallett, Chief Executive Officer Andrew Parkinson, and the club’s Board of Directors, the use of data has become an integral part of operations at Argyle, and will contribute significantly towards the club’s mission of becoming a sustainable Championship club. The club’s leadership holds a firm belief that harnessing data effectively provides a competitive advantage across all areas of the business, and the Head of Football Data will be tasked with championing that cause.
The ideal candidate will have experience of utilising data within a professional environment, and it is desirable (although not essential) that the candidate possesses experience using analytics tools such as PowerBI, SQL, Qlik and Python.
