Women's Fixtures at Home Park
Three dates have been locked in for the Argyle Women’s team to play on the hallowed turf of Home Park.
As part of a package of support for the Women’s team from both the club and Community Trust, Argyle have committed to hosting a number of competitive fixtures at the Theatre of Greens to help showcase women’s football.
The first of these fixtures occurs on Sunday, 31 October, against Ipswich Town – arranged to occur the day after Ryan Lowe’s Pilgrims host the Suffolk side.
On Sunday, 16 January, Ryan Perks’ side host Portsmouth in a south-coast derby, before returning to Home Park to take on Milton Keynes Dons on Sunday, 20 March. All fixtures are scheduled to kick-off at 2pm.
Perks said: “We’re very excited to be able to play a number of games at Home Park this season, and I know that the team are ready to rise to the challenge and showcase what the team is all about.
“On behalf of the team, I’d like to thank the club and Trust for giving us this opportunity and committing to raising the profile of women’s football in the seasons ahead. Please get out and support us if you can.”
After a season of change last time out, the team has made an encouraging start to life in the FA Women’s National League, with a number of high-profile players returning to the team as a result of improved structural support from the club.
Last time out the Pilgrims’ thrashed Keynsham Town 5-1, with Gabi Alphous scoring a brace, alongside strikes from Natasha Knapman, Zoe Cunningham and Emily Eaton.
Ticketing information for each of the fixtures at Home Park will be made available in due course.
