Cameron Departs

ARGYLE midfielder Cameron Sangster has left the club by mutual consent.

The Newton Abbot native joined the Pilgrims’ Academy at a young age, and was a member of the 2013-14 Milk Cup team that reached the semi-finals of the competition, before falling to Brazilian giants Corinthians.

He made his first-team debut under Derek Adams as a late substitute in the 4-1 Sky Bet League One win over Oldham Athletic in December 2017, replacing veteran David Fox on 89 minutes. He would feature again later that season, on the final day, playing half an hour of the Pilgrims’ 5-2 defeat at Gillingham.

An injury ruled Cameron out for the majority of the 2018-19 season, but he returned to fitness over the summer break, and was a part of the Pilgrims’ pre-season trip to Alicante.

In August, Sangster moved, alongside Tom Purrington, on loan to Southern League Premier Division South side Dorchester Town.

The club would like to thank Cameron for his time as Pilgrim and wishes him all the best for the future.
