Cornwall Sports Media appointed

Cornwall Media Agency Appointed

As part of our growing commitment to the county of Cornwall, Argyle have appointed regional sports media agency Cornwall Sports Media (CSM) to further raise the profile of the club in the area.

CSM will provide media services – words, pictures and distribution – around the Pilgrims’ grass-roots, community and Academy activities in Cornwall – with two main focus areas.

First, identifying young footballing talent and ensuring that Argyle is the club of choice for future stars from the Duchy. The two recently opened Elite Coaching Hubs in Bodmin and Penryn, delivered in partnership with the Cornwall FA, are pivotal to the goal of developing more home-grown talent into first-team stars, following in the footsteps of Cornish success stories like Luke Jephcott. CSM will cover events at the Hubs, as well as other Argyle Academy and Community Trust activities in Cornwall.

Secondly, while the Cornish Argyle fan base is already strong, there remains potential for further growth in the region. While around 20% of the Home Park crowd typically comes from Cornwall, the club wants to encourage more supporters to make the trip across the Tamar to enjoy the fantastic match day experience and develop a lifelong affinity with the county’s nearest professional football club. CSM will help to promote Argyle within Cornwall and will facilitate the dialogue between the club and both current and potential supporters in the Duchy.

Argyle Head of Marketing and Communications, Jamie Yabsley, said: “The project to further develop our reach into Cornwall is really exciting, on both an Academy and supporter engagement front. Argyle has a reach far beyond the boundaries of Plymouth, and this agreement provides a better opportunity to directly communicate with our audience in Cornwall.

“There are so many really exciting things happening in the county from an Argyle perspective, and working with Cornwall Sports Media will better allow us to tell those stories, create more content, and engage with potential supporters to grow the fanbase further.”

Colin Bradbury of Cornwall Sports Media added: “We are delighted to be working with Argyle to further boost their presence and profile in Cornwall. Not only because it is the highest ranked team in the region, but also because of the exemplary way that the club is run from top to bottom. Greater involvement on the part of Plymouth Argyle in Cornwall can only be positive for the development of football down here. We are looking forward to working to help the club achieve its ambitions in the Duchy.”

Cornwall Sports Media’s regular content and news updates from activities in the region will be incorporated into club platforms – including our official website, the official Argyle App, our match-day programme, and Argyle TV. The agency will also take a proactive role in promoting Argyle through local media channels in Cornwall, and on their own social media platforms.
