Fans' Guide | Cardiff City (H)

The first Sky Bet Championship game at Home Park of the Ian Foster era sees Argyle take on Cardiff City on Saturday, with another sell-out crowd waiting.

Coming along? Have a look at our Fans' Guide below.

Fans' Guide | Cardiff City (H)

Fan Behaviour

Supporters are reminded about the importance of adhering to ground regulations.

These include pitch incursions, the use of pyrotechnics and missile throwing, as well as any form of discriminatory behaviour towards players on the pitch, staff or your fellow supporters.

Fans from both clubs are also reminded that persistent standing throughout Home Park is not accepted and supporters will be told to take their seats throughout the game.

Tickets sold out

Tickets for this match are completely sold out and Argyle will once again be backed by a packed Home Park Stadium.

Please note, turnstiles will open 90 minutes before kick-off with supporters advised to enter through the turnstile identified on their match ticket. However, if neighbouring turnstiles have shorter queues, supporters are permitted to enter these to speed up access to the stadium.

If you can no longer make the game, please aim to utilise our Ticket Exchange which gives season-ticket holders the ability to sell their designated seat at face value to other supporters. Season-ticket holders will have until three hours prior to kick-off to repost their tickets. If they sell, then their ticket account will be credited with the respective value.

Gate opening times

Argyle fans should be aware that gates will now open from 90 minutes before kick off for the rest of the season.

The same amenities will be available to the Green Army as previously, gates will just open 30 minutes later than previously.

Travel Guide

Plymouth Argyle recognises the importance of, and is committed to, minimising our environmental footprint. A key aspect of the club’s environmental plan is to make travel to and from Home Park on match-days sustainable, by making public transport options as accessible as possible, and by supporting and encouraging supporters to use transport options with the lowest environmental impact.

To see how you can support us with this and for all the information you need to make your travel arrangements as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible, please see our travel guide, here.

Traffic Management System - Safety and Exit

Following the introduction of a traffic management system on Jack Leslie Way, which ensures the area immediately outside of the stadium is free from vehicle movement when fans are entering and exiting the stadium, we are pleased to say that we can now reintroduce the opening of the main vehicle exit between the Portcullis Legals Lyndhurst Road Stand and the Babcock Devonport End at the end of the match.

Whilst we will still encourage supporters to leave the stadium at the nearest exit, this will speed up egress for supporters in blocks 4-8 meaning less impact on all other exits and decreasing the overall wait time to leave the stadium.

Parking

Outland Road Car Park, adjacent to Home Park is a very large – and free! – car park. It is council-run, and is typically a park-and-ride car park into the city. It is free to use on match-days, but will obviously begin to fill up very early for many fixtures, especially local derbies, Bank Holiday fixtures, etc.

Additional street parking is available surrounding Home Park, but please be mindful of local residents, park sensibly, and be aware of any parking restrictions and permit areas. Considerations should include:

  • Don’t park on double yellow lines
  • Please avoid dropped kerbs in front of people’s houses
  • Please avoid parking on junctions
  • Please display a blue badge if you have one

There are also several large pay and display car parks in the city centre, which is within walking distance of Home Park, but not advised for those who struggle to walk beyond short distances.

See the following section for information about Harpers Football Centre.

Please be aware that there is a swimming gala taking place at the Life Centre this weekend, so we expect parking to be even more limited than normal.

Harpers Football Centre

As a result of Harpers Football Centre currently undergoing refurbishment, the centre will be closed to supporters on Saturday for the visit of Cardiff City. Pitch hire bookings are unaffected.

As well as the centre closure, no parking will be available to the Green Army with all booked spaces automatically transferring to Devonport High School. Big Parking Company will be in contact directly with supporters regarding this.

Please be aware that there is a swimming gala taking place at the Life Centre this weekend, so we expect parking to be even more limited than normal.

Half-Time Challenge

Our new half-time challenge will continue for the game against Cardiff.

For every Sky Bet Championship game, we select two fans to play, who get one attempt each to try to pass the ball as close to the centre spot as possible from the halfway line touchline. The distance from the centre circle will then be measured, and are keeping a running leaderboard over the course of the season.

At the final league game, the top three overall on the leaderboard will return to participate in the grand final, where each participant will take part again. Whoever is closest to the centre spot in the grand final will take home a cash prize of £1,000.

Match-Day Programme

Copies of our award-winning match-day programme, The Pilgrim, are once again available around the stadium for purchase at £3.50, while a limited number will also be available to purchase from the Argyle Superstore.

Our 2023/24 Sky Bet Championship programme subscription service is also available for sign-ups.

The popular subscription service will be the only way supporters can guarantee that they receive a copy of The Pilgrim, for every home game this season.

The subscription model offers both home delivery and click-and-collect options, allowing supporters to select the most efficient delivery method for their circumstances.

Please note that the subscription is only available for the Pilgrims’ 2023/24 league fixtures. Cup programmes will be available to purchase from the Argyle Superstore and online.

Accessibility

For any accessibility or match-day support queries, our dedicated Disability Liaison Officer can be contacted on disability@pafc.co.uk.

Security

Supporters should be prepared to be searched by our security team as they enter the stadium.

Wherever possible, we will ensure that 'wand' searches are also undertaken by members of the same gender. If that is not the case upon entry, and you feel at all uncomfortable, please raise this with a member of the security team - who will make the necessary arrangements.

As with all major sporting events, bringing bags to the stadium is actively discouraged. However, fans arriving at Home Park with a small personal bag (for example, medical bags or handbags) capable of being stowed under seats is permitted. Please note, supporters should expect this to be searched before entry.

We ask that supporters arrive in plenty of time to avoid queues forming as kick-off approaches.

Argyle Superstore

The Argyle Superstore, located next to the Home Park Ticket Office by the main entrance to the Beacon Electrical Mayflower Grandstand, is open until 30 minutes after full-time.

Evergreen

The Evergreen Suite, adjacent to the Home Park Ticket Office, is open ahead of the game.

Not one of the more than 6,000 Evergreen members? No problem, you can speak to our dedicated supporter engagement team to find out more.

Members of the team will be on hand to share more detail about the scheme, which sees members contribute directly to funding projects within the club's first-team and Academy operations, and help supporters sign up, if they would like to.

Choose Respect

If supporters see anything unusual during their visit to Home Park, report it.

Text ARGYLE to 66777 followed by your message and a member of the team will investigate.

'It' is racism, homophobia, sexism and misogny, sexual harassment, ableism, ageism and religious beliefs.

Sensory Pack

Sensory packs, which include a drawstring bag, ear defenders, fidget spinners, and a sensory ball, as well as further match-day information, are now available for children and young adults who need them – free of charge.

Complimentary sanitary products

Complimentary sanitary products are available in all female and accessible toilets across Home Park Stadium.

Argyle are intent on providing a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors who attend matches.

Match-Day Bus Services

Four football special bus services will operate for the game against Cardiff.

Supporters should note that the PA1 service from Saltash has now been discontinued due to poor uptake.

Thanks to PASOTI for their continued support in providing this service.

Fan Zone extended into Mayflower Quarter

The new Fan Zone, located on the Mayflower Quarter, between Home Park and the Life Centre, opened at New Sky Bet Championship game against Watford, and will be open once again for the visit of Cardiff.

In partnership with C&G Catering, extensive research has taken place to ensure the Fan Zone caters for all needs, and along with a differing food and drink option, soon live sport will be available on a big screen and live music will also be on offer.

Covered areas will also be available to avoid any potential inclement weather.

Argyle Community Trust family activities will also be located there moving forward, while pre-match the area will be available to everyone.

At half-time, Beacon Electrical Mayflower Grandstand ticket holders will also be able to gain access to further complement the food and drink offering during the interval.

Further Parking available

Further parking has been made available for Argyle fans for all home matches until the end of the season through event parking partner, Big Parking.

Several car parks will be open within one mile of Home Park offering 500 spaces available in total.  Car Parking starts at £10 per vehicle and can be purchased here or by calling 02476 997605.

Car parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis and will be available to purchase at least four weeks before the match. Argyle fans are encouraged to book car parking spaces directly.

Any supporters requiring Accessible parking are advised to still contact the club direct.

Please be aware of road closures around the Stadium on a match day to further protect the safety of supporters. All of the Big Parking car parks are located outside of the road closure zone so your access and departure will not be affected by these measures.

Car parks will be open from three hours before kick off and will close one hour after the final whistle. To book spaces please click here.
