Project 35 Dedicated Fixture

Friday's fixture is our second dedicated Project 35 fixture of the season.

This opportunity will hand the Argyle community another chance to break more records in the fight against food poverty in Plymouth, Devon, and Cornwall.

Our first dedicated Project 35 Takeover fixture of the season took place against Stoke City in December. We were blown away by the response from the Green Army and the wider community and, thanks to your generosity, a record-breaking 1.4 tonnes of produce and £410.20 in donations were collected, surpassing the previous three appeals at Home Park.

Since the inception of Project 35, an amazing 4.1 tonnes of food have been donated by the Green Army and local community for the local food bank network in Plymouth.

We will be collecting items before the game from the Babcock Devonport End, where our food van and Project 35 gazebo will be located from 5pm. Pledge 35 volunteers, Ginsters staff and Trust staff will be on hand to support collections and chat more about the wider aims of Project 35.

Donations will be delivered to the Project 35 Food Larder, located at Manadon Sports and Community Hub, to support those in need after the Easter period.

The Community Larder runs every week and is currently supporting 80 local people in need with food and supplies provided through our charity network. To find out more, or to sign up, email trevor.higgins@pafc.co.uk.

Project 35, in partnership with Ginsters, had a profound impact in its first season, in 2022/23. As well as the huge success of the fan appeals, and winning Best Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme at the Football Business Awards, the project has delivered:

  • Over 35,000 meals to those most in need
  • Over 5,000 volunteering hours from ‘Pledge 35’ volunteers
  • 707 hampers to the most deprived areas of Plymouth
  • 22,000 Ginsters products to those living in temporary accommodation
  • Over 600 hours of community volunteering from Ginsters staff
  • 320 match tickets, 20 mascot experiences, and 212 Argyle shirts gifted
  • Free education and wellbeing sessions to 7,028 children with 18,275 hampers gifted
  • Education programmes and social action projects around food poverty in three schools
  • Enrichment days for 24 students who were at risk of exclusion
  • Adult education sessions and food workshops for young people
  • Vital poverty awareness raised

Trust Community Engagement Project Manager Alice Young said: “We have been overwhelmed by the incredible generosity of the fans and community following the previous appeals and we can’t wait to do it again on our important Friday evening kick-off.

“Local people are always asking how they can get involved with our fight against poverty, and this provides them an opportunity to donate vital resources to the food bank network, and also volunteering at the event itself, through our wonderful Pledge 35 volunteers.

“We are hopeful that we can surpass the record-breaking target achieved at the Stoke City game and hit new heights with the foods donated and money raised.”

Fan Behaviour

Supporters are reminded about the importance of adhering to ground regulations.

These include pitch incursions, the use of pyrotechnics and missile throwing, as well as any form of discriminatory behaviour towards players on the pitch, staff or your fellow supporters.

Fans from both clubs are also reminded that persistent standing throughout Home Park is not accepted and supporters will be told to take their seats throughout the game.

Gate Opening Times

Argyle fans should be aware that gates open 90 minutes before kick off.

The same amenities will be available to the Green Army as previously, gates will just open 30 minutes later than earlier in the season.

Travel Guide

Plymouth Argyle recognises the importance of, and is committed to, minimising our environmental footprint. A key aspect of the club’s environmental plan is to make travel to and from Home Park on match-days sustainable, by making public transport options as accessible as possible, and by supporting and encouraging supporters to use transport options with the lowest environmental impact.

To see how you can support us with this and for all the information you need to make your travel arrangements as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible, please see our travel guide, here.

Parking

Outland Road Car Park, adjacent to Home Park is a very large – and free! – car park. It is council-run, and is typically a park-and-ride car park into the city. It is free to use on match days, but will obviously begin to fill up very early for many fixtures, especially local derbies, Bank Holiday fixtures, etc.

Additional street parking is available surrounding Home Park, but please be mindful of local residents, park sensibly, and be aware of any parking restrictions and permit areas. Considerations should include:

  • Don’t park on double yellow lines
  • Please avoid dropped kerbs in front of people’s houses
  • Please avoid parking on junctions
  • Please display a blue badge if you have one

There are also several large pay and display car parks in the city centre, which is within walking distance of Home Park, but not advised for those who struggle to walk beyond short distances.

Further information on new parking options is available below.

Further Parking

Further parking has been made available for Argyle fans for all home matches until the end of the season through event parking partner, Big Parking.

Several car parks will be open within one mile of Home Park offering 500 spaces available in total.  Car Parking starts at £10 per vehicle and can be purchased here or by calling 02476 997605.

Car parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis and will be available to purchase at least four weeks before the match. Argyle fans are encouraged to book car parking spaces directly.

Any supporters requiring Accessible parking are advised to still contact the club direct.

Please be aware of road closures around the Stadium on a match day to further protect the safety of supporters. All of the Big Parking car parks are located outside of the road closure zone so your access and departure will not be affected by these measures.

Car parks will be open from three hours before kick off and will close one hour after the final whistle. To book spaces please click here.

Half-time Challenge

Our half-time challenge will continue for the game against Leicester City.

For every Sky Bet Championship game, we select two fans to play, who get one attempt each to try to pass the ball as close to the centre spot as possible from the halfway line touchline. The distance from the centre circle will then be measured, and we are keeping a running leaderboard over the course of the season.

At the final league game, the top three overall on the leaderboard will return to participate in the grand final, where each participant will take part again. Whoever is closest to the centre spot in the grand final will take home a cash prize of £1,000.

Match Day Programme

Copies of our award-winning match day programme, The Pilgrim, are once again available around the stadium for purchase at £3.50, while a limited number will also be available to purchase from the Argyle Superstore.

Accessibility

For any accessibility or match day support queries, our dedicated Disability Liaison Officer can be contacted on disability@pafc.co.uk.

Security

Supporters should be prepared to be searched by our security team as they enter the stadium.

Wherever possible, we will ensure that 'wand' searches are also undertaken by members of the same gender. If that is not the case upon entry, and you feel at all uncomfortable, please raise this with a member of the security team - who will make the necessary arrangements.

As with all major sporting events, bringing bags to the stadium is actively discouraged. However, fans arriving at Home Park with a small personal bag (for example, medical bags or handbags) capable of being stowed under seats is permitted. Please note, supporters should expect this to be searched before entry.

We ask that supporters arrive in plenty of time to avoid queues forming as kick-off approaches.

Argyle Superstore

The Argyle Superstore, located next to the Home Park Ticket Office by the main entrance to the Beacon Electrical Mayflower Grandstand, is open until 30 minutes after full-time.
