Thousands raised for Project 35 at Luton game

Project 35

Despite the winter weather, the Green Army turned out in force on Saturday, 24 January, to support the tenth dedicated Project 35 fixture at Home Park, our social impact project in partnership with Ginsters.

As Argyle secured all three points on the pitch, the community contributed to a major win off it. We put out a call to supporters and the community to bring items of in-date, non-perishable food and hygiene products for those most in need, and the response was incredible. The event, supported by Ginsters and Trust staff and our incredible team of Pledge 35 volunteers, collected £2,887 and 330kg of food donations at a time of year when food poverty is at its most critical.

As well as the amazing support from the community, CT1 and Director Neil Deakin, generously donated an additional £1,100 to the cause, a hugely appreciated gesture that will help us stock the Manadon Food Larder for those in need.

Carys, Barriball, Senior Brand Manager, from Ginsters said: “The warmth and generosity shown by the Green Army on such a cold winter’s day was truly humbling. Seeing supporters come together with such compassion and determination reminds us why Project 35 is so important. Every donation made on Saturday will have a real impact for families across our community, at a time when they need it most.

"We’re also grateful for the continued backing of local businesses, whose support helps strengthen the work we do year‑round. At Ginsters, we’re incredibly proud to stand alongside Plymouth Argyle and this remarkable community as we work together to tackle food poverty in the south-west.”

Project 35, supported by principal partners Ginsters, is our award-winning social action initiative aimed at reducing food poverty in the south-west, through a campaign of fundraising, awareness raising, social outreach, food donations, education, and charity support – now in its fourth year!

The community’s generosity has defined the success of Project 35. Through previous fan appeals and events across the city we have raised over £14,000 in funds and received 10 tonnes of food stock donations. We are thrilled to kick off our fourth year with such a strong foundation of support and look forward to expanding our impact even further.
